happy birthday to me. josh had the kitchen decorated and treated my like a queen. the day started out at five AM!!! brookie decided to wake me up early on my birthday. we did our normal routine and then we had all the med school moms and kids over for a play date and then we went to a place called just cupcakes for well cupcakes. after which we came home and ate lunch put the kids down for naps...and brodys gift to me was a nap as well, it was so nice to have some time to myself...then when josh got home we opened gifts with the preface that everything i would recieve or do today would be using a coupon since i am really into that lately. my gifts were wonderful especially since the kids picked them out themselves. then we were off to COLOR ME MINE and dinner. we had so much fun and i loved painting the plates with the kids that we will have forever! thank you to everyone that called or emailed me happy birthday i truly had a wonderful day and i have the best husband in the world!!!

long overdue

so where have we been? we have been here but we have been crazy busy. when we got back from arizona i was kind of thrown in a weird situation with our young womens program. i am the first counselor but the president and the second counselor are mia...so i have been so busy trying to do everything and still not being able to call the shots as the president. finally our bishop said i just needed to take over so that is what i have done. it has been much better since i have done so. we are getting more organized and hopefully things will be a lot less stressful from here on out. dont get me wrong there are still meetings to attend and all the other stuff but now i can delegate some of the secretarial work to others. besides that brody started swim lessons and he loves it so much! he cannot wait to go to class and wishes it was everyday. he is learning to write the alphabet...we work on a letter every week. he just loves crafts so much right now and we do one at least everyday if not more. brooklyn loves library time that we go to every tuesday to sing and dance and have story time. she is just super cute and i always get stopped by strangers that just want to look at her and talk to her. they always tell me how beautiful she is and she has the best smile. she loves coloring as well right now and she is learning how to jump in the air. she still doesn't like to watch tv or movies but that girl loves to dance and play with her babies. she goes into nursery in two weeks, we cant wait!!! josh has been busy with school and church. we miss him so much every day. we cant wait till he gets home and gets to be with us. he is figuring out what he wants to do still and studying for the boards...which are scheduled for june 15. i am just so happy in my life right now. i love josh so much and i am so lucky to be married to him. i have the two most beautiful kids in the world, that make me laugh and smile. i love my life.

happy late valentines day! we had a busy day and week to be honest. we had a valentines party at our house with all the med school mommys and kiddos. we decorated valentines for our daddys and we frosted yummy sugar cookies, ate lunch and played of course. it was a lot of fun and as always good food, we also had a birthday party to celebrate...sammy turned one! we had a game night at the larsens. we decorated more valentines and mommy had to get ready for the big day she had planned for her fam. i seriously couldnt wait to surprise them. since church is so early we didn't get much done in the morning but when we got home we had cinnamon rolls and presents on each place setting, a delicious dinner and chocolate strawberries to top everything off. i had a fun time showing my family and telling them how much i love them. what a wonderful day and i loved that it was on sunday so we couldn't just spend money but it forced us to find other ways of service to show we loved each other.

for some reason i have been obsessed with wreaths lately....making them that is. the book wreath i absolutely love and thought it would look perfect with two (the more the better). and best of all those wreaths cost me a total of four bucks and don't they just look fab! the other wreath i was trying to copy the look from a movie but couldn't quite find the right foliage so i just found the other stuff and love it too. i just finished it yesterday. it isn't going to hang there but i need to get ribbon to finish it off and hang it were it is really going to go. next on my craft agenda...i need to make four blankets so we can go to disney world this summer! after that maybe another wreath....like i said i am obsessed!

snow day: chapter one

a few weeks ago we woke up to snow, and lots of it! when they said it was going to snow, yes we got prepared through groceries, gas in the cars, etc. but honestly we thought it wouldn't. why? because last year they said the same thing and they canceled schools and the next day there was nothing in the sky but the sun. so we really didn't believe the weather man! wow were we surprised and to make the weekend perfect josh couldn't go anywhere...he was stuck at home with us. it was absolutely wonderful!!! we played in the snow as much as the kids would let us before they were too cold. we laughed, we smiled, we snuggled up, we had hot chocolate, we even kissed some....

chapter two: our snowy day continued with going to red box by our house for some movies and the grocery store to stock up on lots and lots of junk food, josh and i started and finished a puzzle (after i was almost done and brody decided to destroy it, i screamed since we had to start all over again), and finally we were bored so josh and i made the kids masks. can you guess who made which one? i do not have the artistic talent in the family that would be my hubby. the kids had so much fun in the snow and inside as well. we ate so much junk food and just had some much needed family time with dad.
