Wednesday
over the last two weeks
so the past couple of weeks have been crazy busy. when we got back from spring break josh decided to plant grass in our back yard so he dug everything up and seeded new grass. he also built the kids a sand box for their easter present. the grass is starting to look really nice now as long as i remember to water it! we have cleaned out our closets and organized them. we have gone to the botanical gardens twice with heather to play and go for a long stroll, we have gone to the beach with all the kiddos and moms, we went to a baseball game, a bbq, the uss wisconsin, to the park to play, out to lunch for heather's birthday (happy birthday heather!), and last but not least we have gone to have lunch with josh at school. the kids played baseball with their dad and we had a picnic outside at our little park we love to go to downtown. it has been a crazy few weeks and our schedule is just starting to return to normal craziness. we have had so much fun with all our med school friends and just being together as a family. i am working on a few projects at home to keep me busy and now that i am released from young womens i just got called as activities day leader so i still go on wednesday nights. brody is still doing swim lessons and he loves it. brooklyn is just as cute as ever. josh is finishing up his finals for second year and then he will start studying for step 1 of the boards. he has needed something to distract him besides family so he has taken up his much loved hobby of golfing. he used to go all the time in high school and he has missed it a lot. josh also takes great pride in how his grass is growing so if you come over be sure to comment! haha i love you honey. thats what is new with us.
easter brunch
Tuesday
the easter bunny came!
the easter bunny came and left some goodies for some good little kids. this year like last he left a note and a poem to be read. after we read the poem the instructions were to play "hot or cold" to find their hidden baskets. brooklyn's basket was hidden with the pots and pans and brody's was hidden by the entertainment center. the kids had a blast and loved all their yummy goodies.
ohsu and portland
for awhile now josh and i have wanted to visit ohsu's campus and we decided to take the kids on the tram for an adventure. it was so much fun. brody was kind of scared at first but he was so brave. the sights of the city were beautiful and ohsu was amazing...what else would it possibly be but amazing. maybe someday soon we will call this beautiful city, home.
dinner with the adults
my parents took the adults out to celebrate our anniversary. we had a fun time laughing and being without children. when we got back to the house brody had gotten a cut in his eyebrow while we were gone. it wasnt deep enough for stitches but still pretty deep. about 15 minutes after we got home i was talking to josh asking him if hair would grow back in his eyebrow or if there would be a bad scar? josh said "cami every little boy gets a scar in his eyebrow and his chin." no kidding not even 30 minutes later and brody was running up my parents stairs, he tripped and split his chin open. blood gushing everywhere we head to my dads office to stitch it up. luckily he they just steri stitched it. today the scar is looking better and better. we are so grateful we were in washington while it happened and not at home where we would have had to wait in the ER all night.

what you see...
a sandy morning
while we stay at the beach house we usually head down in the morning for a walk along the beach. brody and brooklyn love to run from the waves. last time i came i was by myself with both kids and we got drenched by crashing waves that came up a little too fast. this time was no different. brody loves to run as fast as he can from the waves but he also loves to get wet. right after the second picture was taken a big wave came and knocked him on his knees and then another one came and washed over him completely. my mom went running out to rescue him. now on the east coast the water where we live is not that bad in march but on the west coast...you hardly ever go swimming in the water even in the summer, brody decided march was a good time for a swim. we had to strip him naked and head home for a hot bath but oh the kids had so much fun!
from coast to coast
spring break this year found us in washington visiting my family. while there we went:

- out to the beach house
- to taylor's track meet (GO TAY!!!)
- out to lunch with Brother VanSickle
- to the temple (we forgot our camera...sad)
- getting the kids pictures done
- visiting my grandparents
- watching my little sister get her first car
- out to our favorite restaurants for lunches and dinners
- to the childrens museum
- a trip to OHSU on the tram
- family home evening at my sister's new home (which is beautiful! josh keeps talking about it)
- and as you will notice in these pictures a late night trip to my dad's office for stiches on brodster...story to come in later post
we did so much more and i cant even remember it all. unfortunately we were not able to see some people (allison) that i wanted to see and spend more time with family. the trip was short but we had a great spring break. thank you mom and dad for letting us come and invade the house with screaming children and big messes. we love you and miss you.
sunday strolls
this is one of our family traditions here in virginia. since we only live about five minutes from the beach on sunday afternoons we like to walk along the board walk and enjoy the sounds of the beach. every time we go we say to each other "we need to do this more often!" we love living so close to the beach. since brooklyn cant ride her bike josh pulls her on her "bike" with a rope. Brody loves riding his trike and racing us down the boardwalk.
