Hunt Club Harvest Festival

Grandma and Grandpa Bingham came for a few days to visit. We had such a fun and busy time while they were here. It was wonderful to see them and spend time with them. While they were here we got a babysitter the first night so we could go out with just them. It was nice to get a break from the kids and not shovel my food in my face. We went to the aquarium, this harvest festival, we had a picnic at the botanical gardens, to a bakery here in town, and on a hike. All that along with watching conference and Brodys soccer made for a busy trip. Scott was also very generous in working on my "honey do" list around the house and on the car. Thank you so much for everything you guys do for our family. We love you so much and already miss you. Brody had a hard day yesterday without you guys here. Brody on the pony

The farm had a hay tower that Brody loved climbing and throwing hay everywhere.
My sweet baby girl
The farm also had a petting zoo and you could buy feed bags well this goat thought my shirt was food.
Brody loved talking to the animals, petting and feeding them. He was so cute to watch!
Oh my gosh! Look at those wrinkles coming on my face! SCARY!!!

Brody soccer

So I finally have a moment to comment on this post. Brody is playing soccer this year through the YMCA. These are pictures of his first practice and his first game. We were quite disappointed when at his first practice he was so shy and refused to play. That is pretty much how the season has gone so far. I dont know if he just has not had enough play dates or if he is just scared. But he loves to play at home but as soon as we get around other people he goes into a shell. If you have any suggestions for what I could do to help him I would gladly accept them. His first game! I finally got him to go in for the last five minutes of the game.
Our best cheerleader!!!
This is how he was the first 25 minutes of the game...poor guy!

Getting a water break at practice
GOOO BRODY!!!!

Chillin At HOME

Things here have been slowing down which to be honest is nice! They have been so busy since we got back and it was starting to take its toll on me. I thought this was just a cute pic of my brody and me hanging out on the floor while dad studies at his desk. I love my broster!

BBQ Chicken Pizza

Another fabulous dish to try. We absolutely love this new recipe we found. It is such a quick and easy dinner and oh soo yummy.
Trader Joe's whole wheat pizza dough (I just used a Pillsbury Pizza Crust in the can)
Cooked cubed chicken, tossed in BBQ sauce (I only need about 3 chicken tenderloins to have enough for the pizza. I usually cook it on my George Foreman Grill.)
BBQ sauce (we use Bullseye)
8 oz. Mozzarella cheese
1/2 purple onion, sliced
Fresh cilantro
1. Roll out floured pizza dough onto oiled cookie sheet (or pizza stone).
2. Spread thin layer of BBQ sauce over dough.
3. Sprinkle about half of the mozzarella cheese over top.
4. Evenly distribute chicken, purple onions, and cilantro.
5. Top with remaining cheese.
6. Cook at 450 (or whatever your pizza dough calls for) for 10-15 minutes until cheese is golden brown.

Nords

Oh how I love Nordstrom but oh how I LOVE their cafe. This place has a special place in my heart because I grew up going their with my mom and having a heart to heart chat with her. The food is wonderful and the price is not too bad either. This is one of my favorite comfort fall soups. And I just had to find a similar recipe. I made this a couple weeks ago and it was wonderful! But beware this recipe is good for A LOT of people. So have some friends over and enjoy some yummy soup. Nordstrom Tomato Basil Soup
6 T. olive oil
4 large carrots, sliced
1 large onion, sliced
1 T. dry basil leaves
3 (28- to 32-oz.) cans whole peeled roma tomatoes
1 quart chicken broth
1 pint heavy or whipping cream
Salt and pepper, to taste
Place olive oil in a 6-quart saucepan and heat over medium-high heat. Add carrots, onion and basil and cook 10 to 15 minutes or until vegetables are soft. Add tomatoes and broth and simmer 20 minutes.Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Puree soup in food processor, in batches, until smooth; return to saucepan. Stir in cream and heat, over low heat, just until heated through. Season, to taste, with salt and pepper.
