i finished it

i have been working on this for a few days and it was stressing me out because it had to get done before we leave on sunday. my old one was falling apart so i decided about a month ago that i would make one myself. i just have not had the time with all my other projects but i finally finished it and here it is. i would probably make one totally different next time so i wouldnt get so frustrated. i never follow patterns i just go for it and sometimes thats a good thing and other times it is way challenging. but now it is done so no worries.

The Family MALT SHOP

So I found this yummy recipe for burgers and decided to have a Old Fashioned Malt Shop theme dinner. The menu: cajun seasoned potato wedges, jack daniels burgers with onion straws, and a chocolate chip chocolate milkshake. It was a huge hit and we will for sure be making these again. It was oh so good!

A Night Out

With the business of finals and the kids not being able to spend much time with daddy we decided to go and meet him for dinner a few nights ago. We went to this popular restaurant here in Virginia. It was really REALLY good food. But the company was the best. Josh hasn't made it home for dinner in awhile so it was nice to have him eat with us. After dinner I drove him back to school and dropped him off for the night. It was so much fun to spend that time together as a family.

Monday

Pictures for Room

So I did a photo shoot with Brooklyn. I would have loved to got her pictures professionally done but you know how it is. I needed to take her pictures for her room. There are no pictures of her and I got new frames. I need your help in choosing your two favorite pictures. One will be a 11x14 (so BIG) and another is just a 5x7. So write me a comment and tell me your favs. Thanks. Picture 1

Too Many Things...

So I have been doing way too many crafts lately and to be honest I have started them all and finished only a couple. We leave in one week from Sunday for Arizona and I guess a couple weeks ago I decided I wanted to finish all my craft ideas that I had swarming in my head before we leave. Which as of right now has turned into lots of little big messes in piles around my house. They will probably stay there all summer long unless I can by some miracle get them all done and everything else done in time before we leave. What crafts am I doing...finishing a sacrament meeting book I started making the kids about a year and a half ago sitting on the kitchen counter(I know long time for a craft), sewing a new diaper bag spread out across the kitchen table, painting old frames a new color to match Brody's room also on the kitchen counter, more picture frames in the master bedroom that need to be hung and pictures actually put in them, another craft project for Brodys room in the kitchen as well. Too many things and it is driving me nuts. Besides crafts I have been busy with my young women and I started coaching a volleyball team a few weeks ago so with those things combined my Monday, Wednesday and Fridays nights are booked up. The gym is still my escape from mommy hood and in the day well obviously still doing crafts. I love crafts but there needs to be some boundaries Cami. Geezzz!!! Anyways, thats me.
Josh is busy taking finals and all he has been doing is studying. He came and played volleyball last night with the young women and the young men. It was really fun the play together. We make a great team in just about everything....okay I will stop bragging. He is working so hard for our family and we love our daddy so much. After his long days he comes home and spends time with us. It is our favorite time of day.
Brody is doing much better now. His thumb is completely normal with just a few stitches. It was pretty painful for him. He loved his package from Grandma, Kelly and Jamie so thank you! Brody has been sleeping on the floor...I know what you are thinking man what type of parents are they....well he was actually on a mattress on the floor and we just got him a bed. We ended up getting a bunk bed since Brody and Brooklyn will probably have to share a room in the future. He loves it and he thinks it is his fort. He is such a good boy lately. He tells me thank you all the time which makes my nerves calm if you know what I mean. He is learning so much and talking so much more. He is copying us quite a bit so I need to be more careful when I say..."darn it" or "dang it." He loves Sonic and cant wait to go there with Grandpa, Tyler and Grandma. He reminds us everyday that that is what he wants to do when he gets to Arizona.
Brooklyn started to wave hi and bye and she attempts to say the words too. It is super cute. She also said her first official word mama to me as I was walking away from her. That melts my heart and I cant resist giving her anything she wants when she says it. It is really too cute. She wants so bad to crawl but still is not doing it. She is such a happy girl who is so much fun. Josh and I have decided that she is a little mellower than Brody was....thank goodness for me.
Thats the news from here. We are so excited to go to Arizona and get a break from school. Seven more days and Josh will be a second year med student.....YEAH!!!

Thursday

-surgery day-

brody is having surgery today actually it is probably just getting started. i wasnt able to go with him to the hospital since you cant have any other kids there. so i am home with brookie and daddy took brody. he is such a tough little boy. he received a package in the mail from josh's family which will help him get through this tough time (and me to get through it too...so a big thank you to all of them!) we found out that a calcium deposit formed in his thumb making it so he couldnt extend it. it is very common and the doctors dont know why it happens to some and not to others. so the bowling ball had nothing to do with it. what he has is called a trigger thumb and it is a very easy surgery. i will update later about how he is doing once it is all over. thanks for everyones thoughts and prayers.
