saint patricks day 2011

no we didnt get robbed...a leprechaun came! he was a tricky one who broke all the rules and turned over our furniture, spilled the toys, left the tv cupboards open...naughty naughty!

on monday for our FHE activity we made leprechaun traps together as a family. brooklyn and me made one (mostly me) and brody and dad made one. our traps were on the kitchen table with gold. we were hoping to trap one....but he escaped!

he did take the gold (of course) and leave footprints and leprechaun dust!

brody and dads trap was genius. he should have been caught!

brooklyn being an independent girl did not want my help in making one together so this is her trap she colored, cut, and glued all over. she decided to include a scripture she gets from the gym each morning we go.

our leprechaun left a note leading us on a treasure hunt of our own. shamrocks were all over the house with clues to find our treasure!

the treasure!

brody found a clue under the rainbow on the fridge!

so excited to find the treasure!

how cute!

beautiful!

that leprechaun was sneaky. our pancakes were green, our milk was green, our water in the sink was green, even the toilet water was green. hope you had as fun a saint patricks day as we did! happy GREEN day!

"brody, brody, brody..."

i am going to have josh write this one since i wasn't there!!!

I don't think any boys childhood is complete without building a pine wood derby car. Brody and I had a great time, and with a few special modifications that I had learned over the years in scouts, and from my father, Brody did great and won the whole thing.
So Brody is really big into Transformers, and insisted that the car look just like bumble bee, so we did our best (yellow with pin stripes). During the race Brody was having too much fun putting his car on the track, and going to the end to catch it, that he was not paying any attention to the fact that his car was winning every race, and at the end when they called up the winners to hand out the awards, Brody was completely surprised when they called him up to the front, and afterwards he asked "dad did I win something?" I told him that he won the whole thing. He was very excited at that point, and of course the first thing he wanted to do was go home, and call his uncle Tyler to tell him the good news.

silly girl

i found brooklyn getting her own drink of water the other day...so independent! she is learning more things everyday to do all on her own. heaven forbid if i try to help because there will of course be none of that!

so a story about this skirt. we were shopping at the mall as a family one night, because it was cold and there was nothing else to do for free. i went into baby gap because i love to look and brooklyn saw this skirt. she through a fit because we wouldnt buy it for her. the next few days all she wanted was this skirt. what other two year old...cares this much about fashion and a skirt. well i was not going to pay full price for this, so i waited till a coupon came along. now she has the skirt and she is happy once again. she is too much like me!

later that day i walked into my room and she had emptied the toys out of the basket and sat in it as she sang baby sarah rock-a-bye baby. she is just too darling.

"i love Jesus, cause he gave me flowers"
(while driving to the gym one morning.)

oh i love you baby!

Wednesday

while the parents are away...

the kids play! at aunt patti and uncle john's house while we were out for dinner on our birthday. brooklyn LOVED CRAB for dinner...brody did not think it was that great!
SILLY GIRL!
