--out of commission--

after being down and out for a week with the flu i am back in action and doing what moms do best....play of course! we are anxious for the fourth of july and josh's birthday and then only a few more weeks till we leave arizona and head to washington. i miss my fam and cant wait to see them. a quick congratulations to my brother and his wife on having a new baby boy. his pictures are beautiful and we cant wait to meet him. also another congratulations to our best friends christian and moe rasband for also having a baby boy. we would love to see you guys and hope you are having a blast in florida.

--swim hole--

a couple weeks ago there was an article in the paper about all these fun swimming holes and hikes to go on in arizona. well we havent had a chance to go till this last weekend. the temp was 109 so it was time for us to get out of it and head up to payson. we were so excited to go and the pictures we had looked at of this swimming hole were gorgeous. we brought breakfast in the car and drove 90 minutes to get there. brookie slept and brody said it was too long! once there it was about a half mile hike in. there were a lot of people already there and jumping off the cliffs into the water below. the hike was hot and so we were ready to get into that water only to find out once you touched it you would go into shock and get hypothermia!!! it was SOOOO COLD! I swam off the oregon coast. I grew up doing that but let me tell you this has to be the coldest water I have ever been in. Needless to say I was a wimp and so were the kids so our "oh so fun swim hole" ended up being a "oh so fun hike hole." it was beautiful though. after awhile of the sun we headed back to the car and drove to some ancient ruins for some touring and lunch. it was fun to be together as a family but i have to say i was bummed about not getting to swim. on the drive home the kids slept while josh and i talked. i love my hubby so much. he is such an amazing man. i love spending time with him and just having him talk my ear off. once home we jumped into the pool here and cooled off some more. the kids had a great day despite our hiccup.

--our little friend--

meet lizard--our little friend. daddy found him while he was working outside. he saved him just for me. lizard was so fast and fun to hold. we kept lizard inside for awhile but mommy said we needed to let lizard go. lizard was a good friend.

Wednesday

-our cutest of trouble makers-

look what happens when mommy takes a shower...

at least she was thorough and took out all of the baby wipes...

-a day for playdoh-

sometimes you just need to remember how to be a kid and play like a kid. this day was just one of those days where i needed to forget myself and anything i wanted to do and be the playmate to my kids. josh just came and looked at this picture and said "whats that?...a temple" haha i guess i am really bad at making sand castles. but come on the second picture has to be a doggie right? well brody loved it and wants mommy to play playdoh everyday now.

Tuesday

-train playgound-

last week on some random day i dont remember we loaded up and headed out

to play at a train station playgound!

with uncle tyler, aunt jamie, and cousin maddie

we road the train

was glad dad could come along for the ride

played on the trains

got hurt on the train

cracked lots of smiles

had lots of laughs

thank you aunt jamie for taking us

-painting toes-

so one of the things that i always looked forward to was painting my baby girls toes...granted it took forever to do and they look awful now (thanks to crawling) but i love seeing her chubby toes painted. they are just soo cute and kissable! this is the first time i have painted her toes and it definitely wont be the last. fyi: mom has matching toes too...oh i love summer

-swimming in the summertime-

lately around here that is about all we do until mom gets burnt (again) and then we take a break for a couple days and venture out again. brody loves to swim and is getting more and more brave every time we go. he will stick his face underwater with goggle and he can monkey walk around the whole pool. he can kick and doggie paddle but is still very afraid to let me let go of him. here are some pics of the memorial day family swim.

Saturday

family pictures finally done

you all know what a fiasco getting family pictures is so all i need to say is that they are over, done, finished...thank goodness!
