girls weekend in NYC

So in planning for our rotation in Arizona...Scott and Karen also planned for the girls to take a trip to NYC (no kids attached!). All of the dads were taking the time off of work to watch their kids. Josh being on a rotation really couldnt take the time off from work to take care of the kids so Josh's dad stepped in and watched them so I was able to go. The whole weekend was really SO MUCH FUN!!! We woke up early and had a quick flight were Kelly wore a blanket on her head (typical Kelly when we fly....she is terrified of flying!) while the rest of us laughed, slept, listened to music, read magazines, etc. Upon arrival in NYC we checked into our hotel (which was close to Times Square) and went straight for some food. The pizza place we ate at has the best pizza ever! Karen and I had eaten there on a previous trip and had to take the rest of the girls back there. IT truly was THAT good! After pizza it was a night of walking all along Times Square. Everyone else was tired except for Jamie and I and we finally convinced the rest of the crew to come with us to eat dessert at Serendipity. We caught a bike taxi where the biker said he could fit all of us...it is really only meant for 2 people but all 4 of us piled in. It was a scary ride where we thought we would crash into a car but we made it...and had a very expensive bill to show for it. The dessert was probably one of the best desserts I have ever had and the place was darling. Would go there again for sure. The next morning we headed to the statue of liberty via subway...another fear Kelly conquered! We had exclusive tickets to go into the crown. It is a hefty hike up A LOT of stairs but it was totally worth the sweat! The rest of the day we stayed in the financial district for lunch, touring, etc. We finally came back for a rest and then headed out for a yummy dinner and shopping near Rockefeller Center. The last day we were there we hit china town for the knock offs, Central Park for a carriage ride, the expensive stores on 5th Avenue and that night we got all dolled up to see WICKED on Broadway. It was spectacular! A late night dinner and we headed to bed and about three hours before we had to wake up for our early flight back to the kids. The weekend was a whirlwind but it was so much fun to be just the girls! Thank you to Scott and Karen for letting us go on such a great trip and for the memories attached to it!
